This Privacy Policy explains how Tanideh protects user privacy and handles data in connection with its decentralized voting and messaging services (the “Services”). Tanideh follows a strict privacy-first approach, ensuring that no personal data is collected, stored, processed, or shared.

Privacy Principles

Tanideh operates under the following core principles:

• No personal data is collected, stored, or processed.
• We do not request or access user information, including phone numbers, email addresses, or contacts.
• We do not track, analyze, or profile users in any way.
• If you receive any request for personal information claiming to be from Tanideh, it is fraudulent and should be ignored.

Compliance with Data Protection Laws

Tanideh ensures full compliance with international privacy laws, including:

• General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Since no personal data is collected or processed, Tanideh inherently complies with GDPR principles.
• California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) – Users retain full control over their data as none is collected, stored, or shared.

By design, Tanideh exceeds standard privacy regulations by eliminating data collection entirely.

User Accounts and Security

Tanideh accounts are cryptographic key pairs generated locally on the user’s device. Your public address serves as your account identifier and is created entirely offline. Your private key (or "secret") is never shared with Tanideh or stored externally.

User Responsibility:

• You are solely responsible for safeguarding your private key.
• Losing your private key means losing access to your account, and Tanideh has no means to recover lost keys.
• Tanideh is not liable for any damages, losses, or security breaches arising from lost or compromised private keys.

Messaging, Voting, and Encryption

All communications within Tanideh, including votes and messages, are fully end-to-end encrypted. No third party—including Tanideh—can access message content. More details on encryption methods can be found under "Cryptography in Tanideh (Advanced Topic)."

Location Data and IP Address Handling:

• Tanideh does not track, process, or store users' IP addresses. However, because Tanideh is decentralized, users’ IPs may be exposed to others within the network. Tanideh employs Layered Relays to separate IPs from addresses whenever possible (see "Layered Relays in Tanideh (Advanced Topic)").

User Responsibility:

• Tanideh is not responsible for any data collected, stored, or misused by other users. If a user's IP is exposed due to external factors (such as third-party interception), Tanideh holds no liability.

Data Deletion

Since Tanideh does not collect or store any user data, there is no need for a data deletion process. If a user wishes to stop using the app, simply uninstalling it will remove all locally stored data.

Limitation of Liability

Tanideh is designed with the highest level of privacy and security within its technical capabilities. However:

• Tanideh is not responsible for security breaches caused by weaknesses in protocols, third-party attacks, or external vulnerabilities.
• Tanideh is not liable for any loss, damage, or misuse of data caused by other users.
• Users are solely responsible for protecting their own private keys and ensuring their own security.
• By using Tanideh, you acknowledge and agree that Tanideh bears no legal responsibility for any direct or indirect consequences of using the app.

Terms of Service

By creating an address and using Tanideh, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). You also accept our Privacy Policy and agree to abide by the following rules.

Prohibited Conduct

You may not use Tanideh to:

• Send spam, scams, or fraudulent content.
• Promote violence against other individual citizens, terrorism, or harm to other citizens.
• Distribute or facilitate illegal pornographic material, including text-based descriptions.
• Engage in activities recognized as illegal in most democratic jurisdictions, including but not limited to child exploitation, human trafficking, drug distribution, the sale of illegal weapons, or fraudulent schemes.
• Any violation of these Terms may result in restricted access to Tanideh or other necessary actions as determined by the community and technical nature of the network.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create an address and use Tanideh.

Free and Unrestricted Access

Tanideh is free to use and accessible to everyone within legal bounds. There are no fees for using the app, and we do not impose charges for accessing its features.

Service Availability & Termination

Tanideh is provided “as is” with no guarantees regarding uptime, performance, or availability. While we strive to maintain the app, you acknowledge that:

• Technical issues may occasionally disrupt the service.
• We are not liable for any direct or indirect consequences of service interruptions.
• We reserve the right to terminate or discontinue Tanideh at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, legal compliance, or technical constraints.
• In the event of termination, you may lose access to the app and network, and Tanideh will bear no liability for any losses, including financial, personal, or operational damages.

User Responsibility & Legal Liability

Private Key Security:

• You are solely responsible for safeguarding your private key. If you lose it, Tanideh cannot recover it and assumes no liability for any resulting loss of access.

User-Generated Content:

• You are responsible for all content you create or share on Tanideh. The app does not moderate or filter user-generated content.

Decentralization Risks:

• Since Tanideh operates on a decentralized network, users interact directly with one another. Tanideh has no control over how other users handle information and is not responsible for any misuse, data collection, or security risks posed by other users.

Donations

• Tanideh is funded entirely by voluntary donations.
• If you choose to donate, you are responsible for any applicable taxes, internet fees, and transaction costs.
• Donations are non-refundable.

Legal Disclaimer

By using Tanideh, you agree to hold Tanideh harmless for any direct or indirect consequences of using the app. Tanideh:

• Does not provide financial, legal, or security guarantees.
• Is not liable for security vulnerabilities, including protocol weaknesses or external attacks.
• Cannot be held responsible for user misconduct, misuse of the service, or any damages arising from user actions.

Continued use of Tanideh constitutes acceptance of these Terms. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time.
